Look at Mode 3 of the serial port - it is specifically designed for this.
If your 8052's are on the same board you don't need RS232 - a direct connection will do; possibly also if they're inside the same box. Even if you can't do a direct connection, a simple current loop may be sufficient - as used on MIDI, or MDB within Vending Machines. |
