While I think it would be great if people spent some time before posting questions, I think you will also find that there is very little information on any topic that isn't freely available on the Internet somewhere. More probably, the complaint is that questions are being asked where a single Google search would have probably answered the question. Other questions, while probably answered somewhere on the Internet, are harder to find.

I would be happy if people would just read their manual or datasheet. If the answer isn't there, spend just 10 solid minutes searching for their answer on Google/8052.com before posting a question. If the answer could be found in the manual or with 10 minutes of searching, a post is inappropriate and wastes everyone's time. If it would have taken an hour to find the answer then a post is somewhat more understandable and others will probably benefit from the question being asked and answered.

The problem is it is often entirely obvious that the person posting the message spent more time writing their post than actually searching for the answer.
