No, not anyone buying enough chips for the manufacturers to care are using DIL chips. One way to alleviate it a bit is to use the plcc to SOJ sockets such as those shown at http://www.aboveboardelectronics.com/thomasandbetts/pdf/au_sockets/plcc_pcszt.pdf They give you a nice .1" grid for a PLCC package. That, at least, will take care of your uC. Erik |
