Hi Alisha,
I think I had the same problem you have. I had to connect a SPI E2PROM (3.3V) to a 89C55WD (5Vcore) with several 5V peripherals. As port0 doesn't have any internal pullups when EA is high, you may just connect this pins to the 3.3 chip and external pullups to 3.3V. Care about level translators....Definitivelly not.
