SO much info.. this is the best discussion forum i have ever seen..like so many people are willing to help...

Now this will sound very dum from my side but i need to know whats the formula behind the progamming of digital Clock..:(
without using any timer technique...
I will be very greatful if any one can guide me its programming steps and whats the concept behind its programming..
Here is what iam using:-

I have following components:-

1) 4 , 7 segment common cathode displays.
2) 4, 74LS373 ( which is a Latch)
3) 89c51 controller
4) 12 Mhz Crystal
5) 2, 30 Pico Farad Capacitors
6) 2, 10 micro Farad ( 16v, 10V Dc)
7) 8.2 K Ohms, 100 Ohms registors


And for Programming:-

like i will place min 00H in Ro..
and in R1 i will place Hours 12H.
and use a Delay of 1 min...
then using INC increment commmand for Ro and using DA or applying a check on 09,19,29,39,49,59 so they don't convert into 12A..

If any one can please explain me how to use timers for this project ( iam going through the tutorial on this web) or using delay technqiues...but considering me as some one who has no knowledge.

Also in this programming i must consider the Big BEn Sound and components which i have not selected.. if the things for sampling are so difficult for new users i think i should got for Chip so please guide me any chip for this project also.
