#386 - visual basic and serial comm |
I am using the Dallas 87C520 chip. I have established communications
using the RS-232 with the chip and Hyperterminal in Windows 95. The characters I send over to the PC from my chip are correct in Hyperterminal. Now, I am trying to write a Visual Basic 6.0 program using MSCOMM. I have a couple of books on the subject("SERIAL PORT COMPLETE" and "Visual Basic a program's guide to serial communications"). Both books didn't quite help me. All I am trying to do is make a terminal program in Visual Basic which recieves characters from my chip through the RS232. It seems like every time I run my program in Visual Basic it locks up and I don't see any loops in my programming. Help!!!!! |
