#6918 - RE: visual basic and serial comm |
Hi, so another one bites the vb6 and comm bullet. I had a lot of fun ??several months ago with figuring out the vb6 mscomm. First you need access to MSDN, there's several articles including the terminal emulator you asked for. Somewhere in there you find an article that references a bit in the mscomm setup that's requrired to get the interupts working in mscomm (recommend you use this method). I can find these if you still need them, but I'll do one step better and that is to send out a zip with a working version that gets data from a GPS and formats it. My best comment is to use C++ if you need serious comm functions, the VB MSCOMM is flakey at best but will work in the simple case.
