Which one? The Dalla App Note 27 that I cited definitely covers CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Checks); not just checksums. Specifically, the 8-bit Dallas One-Wire (DOW) CRC, polynomial x^8+x^5+x^4+1 and their 16-bit data CRC, polynomial x^16+x^15+x^2+1 "CRC ... Is more complicated but more powerful in error detection [than checksum]." Absolutely. The Dallas App Note also tells you precisely what errors their CRCs will detect. |
