#38841 - Question for the pros
I am interested in programming of chips i want to make shure i can acomplish the below task with the 8052. I have a need for a chip, which
would have 11 inputs and 23 outputs. In order to make it simpler I will
explain the purpose of the chip. The chip would be connected to 4 parts
1. Encoder (which is connected to a transmitter)
2. Decoder (which is connected to a receiver)
3. Buttons (user buttons)
4. 2 digit LED display
The device would be used to Send/Receive 2 digit numbers and then would
display them through the LED display.
Inputs:
7 bits of info from the decoder
1 bit to let the Chip know there is new data in the decoder
1st button (select the first digit of the 2 digit number)
2nd button (select the second digit of the 2 digit number)
3rd button (send the selected 2 digit number to the encoder)
Outputs:
7 bits to send info to encoder
1 bit to let the encoder know there is data to send
15 bits (connect to LED display and display ether numbers being selected
*with the input buttons* or numbers received *should act like a BCD
converter*)

I hope this explained the way I want the chip to operate. Please let me
know if it is possible to manufacture a chip with these characteristics and
what will I need to do. Do I have to write code? What do I use to write
code? Do I have to get an interface to program the chip? How much would it
cost to make the chip including equipment? I would greatly appreciate if
you can give me information or refer me to some one that can.
