Take a look at the Atmel web site WWW.ATMEL.COM AT89S53 has a built in SPI and also some AVR's.

I had to implemented software SPI for the SICOFI and found some information from INFINEON SICOFI2uC chip PEB2266 - it's microcontroller interface is the same as SPI.
