You may also want to consider starting with a wall mount unit that goes directly to +12V DC regulated. These newest wall units that use switch technology are far more efficient, weigh less, and support wide input voltage range. If you use this you have 1 less regulator on your board and you are doing your small part to keep mother earth green and nice.
