If I were building a light tracker, I'd lean toward using a CCD matrix and lens. That would have the advantage of no moving parts... much better for outdoor environments.
Of course, I'd have several sets of sensors so I could get at least two images of any object. If accuracy was not critical, you could use contorted glass or even mirrors to increase your viewing width... you just have to complensate with calculations. -Jay C. Box |
