#39653 - RE: Posting a picture
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Raghunathan:
Actually it is geting to your user page and uploading the picture file to that storage area on the www.8052.com server. Craig gives you a small space to store files there. When you make a user page you are basically uploading one or more html files to the server under your name. The user page displays these files. However it is also possible to use the upload page to transfer graphics for forum posts there as well. When you put the link for the picture into the posting on the forum it is necessary to put the FULL URL to the picture in either the <a href=""> or the <img src=""> tag.

The upload page that Craig is provided to do the file transfer is totally cool and a breeze to use. (Couldn't be easier).

Do not forget to use care with what you upload. It is necessary to ensure that the files are VERY small. Good candidates for file types are JPG and GIF. For example, you should NOT try to post files of 24-bit color BMP types because they are huge. As a point of reference the picture of the regulators I showed the examples with is a file with a size of about 11K bytes. JPGs work best for photo type files. GIF type files are great when there are a limited number of colors in the file and you use the palletted form of the file. I am often able to create the schematic snippetts I post from time to time as small as 2K bytes and less.
