#39949 - RE: 8255
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Anyway is there any other chip that provides the same functionality (especially three I/O ports)

The easiest (and modern) way to get more ports is to use a chip with Flash and ERAM, ERAM is "external RAM internal to the chip" or ERAM is RAM inside the chip accessed by MOVX which is there in addition to the regular 256 bytes of RAM. Such chips free up P0 and P2 for I/O giving you 18 (yes 18) more port pins than an old fashioned '51 design.
I wish someone could find a way to verbalize ERAM so everybody would immediately understand.

Anyhow, staying with the main maufacturers, you can get up to 1k (last I heard) Eram from Atmel, up to 8k ERAM from Philips (P89c668) and these chips have 64k Flash.
