And after you get on board with ISP type microcontrollers and get ready for the next step....I would suggest you look closely at CPLDs and FPGAs from the likes of Lattice and Altera. These parts also support ISP which completely elmininates any need for a Univeral Programmer.
From my way of looking at it....when going forward with new designs....making an investment in a universal programmer is a total waste of money. The only convincing reason for anyone to purchase a universal programmer would be to support firmware or PLD updates for already existing products. Michael Karas |
