I for one have said, for years, that no-one should be given the key to the C compiler until they demonstrate proficiency in progrmming in assembly language.
This is one of the reasons why the demo tool sets from the main stream tool vendors are really good. You can make programs as big as you want in assember but you are limited to something like 2K or 4K bytes when working in C. This gives a lot of incentive to new programmers of 8052s to really have a hard look at their C programs to make them small and efficient. Michael Karas |
