Dave: LCDs perform terribly in cold, heat, vibration, and impact. Sure you get more display data for the dollar but its not quality. Their popularity must be based in consumer ignorance.

I avoid products with LCDs. Of the three LCD consumer electronic devices in my room this minute, two have plate pressure problems that mean you must pound the case to see if the display can be mae readable again. I hate LCDs.
