#43032 - RE: Looking for V4 Keil manuals Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Matthew:
There is a good reason that Keil has upgraded their tools to the "now over 7" versions. If you hold a legitimate license to the older version you should be entitled to a upgrade at a reasonable price. If you do not have a legal license to the older version then you are not actually entitled to the manuals whereever you would get them. I don't know the technical details of the Keil license agreement...but some vendors do not permit transfer to a new owner so you need to check carefully if your "free" copy is legitimate. Tools vendors charge prices for the packages so that they can 1) make a living, 2) stay in business to support the package for those who have bought it, and 3) continue to upgrade and enhance the tool set for existing and future customers. It is awesome that the tool vendor offers a free limited capabilities version of the latest tool set. This is very nice for evaluating suitability of the tool set for a project before purchasing it. It is also very nice for students and hobbiests that are learning how to program 8052's for the first time. Since this is a professional forum, please exercise due consideration of the points I've made and here and use care with your comment "however I don't want to deal with the limit's of the eval version" Michael Karas |
