What is the range of frequencies you want to measure? If the maximum frequency if interest is relatively low, I would advise to use the reciprocal counting technique, where you measure the period of the signal. Otherwise, you would need a 100 second gate time to obtain 0.01Hz resolution! Take a look at this thread. It is a lengthy discussion on frequency counters and may be useful. Be careful not to confuse accuracy with resolution! Best regards, Rob. |
