Sorry about the delay in response.
The CS8900 is a 10BaseT ethernet controller from Crystal Semiconductor (Now owned by Cirrus). While its build around an ISA interface, its very easy to connect to a normal bus. The big advantage of this part is that it does not require DMA for data transfers, making interfacing to smaller processors more practical. The only downside to the part (Besides a $10 price!) is that being build for the ISA market, it has a 180ns access time. For my XA project I had to build a wait-state generator. Want to know more?
