Hi Valentin,

I suppose if you don't want to use the suggested CPLD idea, you can always use the Philips PCF8574. It's an 8 bit remote I/O port. It only costs you two pins in your uC to implement the I2C interface, and you can up to 16 of the PCF8574A.
