My understanding is that an IDE is where you write and cut and paste your code and then attempt to compile and spend the rest of your life getting it to stop wining. A Software Develpoement Environment AKA SDE has allready prewritten and fully tested and verified code and you wire it together just like SoftWire and modify parameters and it's done. Now to you this may be threatning but to me getting safety system certified and conforming to huge protocols such as IP and USB and any other thing that comes along and having a life can well be overwelming and it's about time the 8051 get some respect because I can put one on the moon if need be its just getting old and PalmPC's are looking pretty cool.
