And Erik, with a 2V full scale and 20,000 counts I think I will get 0.1mVolt resolution. And I am happy with 1mV resolution. Is that what you meant by precision ? In fact with the PCB's that we have, 12bit resolution is no problem( which is 0.48mV per bit for a 2V span)
What I'm trying to point out is that resolution is not the same as precision. If you look at the discussion about 8 months ago of the TI '51 colne with the 24 bit A/D converter, you will see that at the end of the day all had to agree on 24 bit resolution, but only 16 bit precision.
