The beauty of the 668 is the 8k RAM and 64k flash on board so you can use all ports for I/O (no external memory). Thus, of course, you can not do memory mapped I/O.
That's why I've choosen this kind of microcontroller. A solution mentionned above was to use CPLD. In this case, how do you communicate with the microcontroller without using mapped I/O.
