if you look at common RS422 driver chips, you will notice that many of them come equipped with 3-state output control pins
That is because they all are named 422/485. Anyhow, I do see that some may want to vialate the standard (422 does NOT allow multidrop) and implement some hybrid and in that sense your commet is very valid. Have fun, Erik |
