#44342 - Radio Chips and building one for 60hz
I am looking for building a radio.

Unfornatly I don't know anyway to go about it.

The basic idea is to build a one transistor radio. I want to use this small radio and see, using an occiloscope what the WWJB signal looked like. This is mainly for experment purposes.

Got me thinking though, what kind of interface chips are there avaliable for tunning a radio? I mean are they all fairly set frequrences (Like only the AM/FM band) or are some of them like IC variable resistors? (Come to think of it, is that all those chips are?)

Be neat to build my own 8051 AM/FM radio. Anyone have any good links or resorces on it?

(Please no prebuilt all-in-one-wonder chips. I really want the finaly project be a Atomic Radio Clock reader, and I doubt there are chips out there that read that right now.... Humm... need to take appart my atomic clock hanging on my wall. I could be wrong:P)
