So where did Zetek come from ? They occupy the old Ferranti Semiconductors place in Oldham.
I saw (somewhere) a product announcment that the ZN414 had been replaced with something else recently. Might be worth looking at Zetek too. I remember my father designing a MSF radio time stamping application, for which he was specifically forbidden from using a microprocessor - the whole job was done in 4000 series logic around 1977.
