Apparently, changing the baud rate inside the interrupt routine has nothing to do with the serial port "crashing".

So, does anyone know of any problems that can cause the serial port to stop functioning. I'm certain I have not stopped Timer1, and I'm certain I'm not hung-up in a routine.
