An LCD will not show anything.
Unless and until you initialize it. Hope you are doing this properly. And also it is one peripheral that is quite sensitive to the bus timings. Are you allowing some delay ( like 200 microsec ) between each write operation ? Or you should read the busy status ... Quite frankly in the absence of actual code it is very difficult to say why it is not showing anything. At times it could be a simple adjustment to the contrast that will do the trick.
