Yes I think I can see the purpose of the SAME variable. Being byte wide, it can be used to represent 255 different cases of equality or inequality - in this case Sampah wants only 32 different cases and hence should not be a problem.

I had worked out the pseudo code in line with the above understanding - and unless Sampah comments on it, I am not sure if I am correct.
