Programming requires hardware and software. I believe your hardware (the cable Mahmood provided schematics for) is probably OK, but that the Atmel ISP software has a problem. I'm guessing it's not checking for all possible chip signatures and is simply assuming that the chip is (or works like) an '8252 or an 'S53. One possible solution is the software Dan suggested (in response to your most recent posting). Another is the AVR programming software available as open source. It uses a similar if not identical programming algorithm (I've programmed a 2051 to program AVR chips so that at least I am familiar with). Check out www.avrfreaks.net, so a search there for WinAVR or AVRDude. What doesn't work as-is you should be able to modify to work, by following the datasheet carefully. Dennis |
