Yeah . I know it looks odd. One of the reason is that the same 74138 is used to select 2 more DAC's and also another strobe signal for a peripheral.

Maybe yes, the CE# and WR# do overlap - I am just sitting with a magnifier and the 44780 data sheet on the timing.

Instead of sitting in front of a chilled mug of beer, I am wasting my time with this dumb LCD. Hmmm.. this Sunday is gone for good.
