my project requires microcontroller to be interfaced with keypad and gpib(general purpose interface bus). The gpib interfacing is to be done with ieee-488.I am a rookie and i am using a51 assembler.I need help regarding this.
thanks in advance.

Boy, do you need help. This is not an easy topic. The best way to do it is to get one of the dedicated GPIB interface chips like

It might be possible to bit bang your own GPIB interface, but I would not dream of doing it that way. The bus is a nightmare for the unwary - it was nearly 10% of my final year degree course, lo those many years ago, and it still brings me out in a cold sweat when I have to use it....
