Dear Forum Members,
We had developed a product, using ATMEL 89C51RC.
The Product was brought to the Production Stage, and we faced a peculiar problem with AT89C51RC.
We had connected the LAMPEX Make LCD Display modules on Port0. Everything worked fine.
One whole lot of AT89C51RC, was not working with this LCD. We noticed that it was giving some random pules on the Port P0.
We fired the same program in the older lot of ICs and found them to be working OK (and not showing any extra pulses).
So we contacted the supplier, and agent of Atmel...and we got a classic reply from them...that those ics work in their test environment, and also at other customers. Hence there was a problem in our software.
Please note that, the same program fired into older lot of ICs (AT89C51RC) work, but the new ICs (AT89C51RC) do not work.

I had a mental block of converting our design to Phillips IC, because we were informed by our dealer,( And I had thought) that, I need a programmer for phillips IC which would cost about Rs. 50000/- (US$1000).
I also have a habit of reading mails from 8052.com.
This is where I read about ISP(In-System-Programming).
And we changed our products to phillips range of ICS.
