Personally I would stick with the transistor solution you already have; it's the safest way. However, if you really only want to use the diode, you should at least put a resistor in series with the output of the LM339 to limit the current when it goes negative. Use a Schottky diode like the BAT-85, which has a forward drop of about 0.3V. Best regards, Rob Klein. |
