#46868 - RE: 1 Hz clock chip ? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
For 1 Hz reference in designs that I have done in years gone by I used a chip called a CD4536.
This chip has a substantial advantage over the 4060 in that it has 24 divider stages. Whilest the original data sheets declared that the inputs were suitable to make a R/C type oscillator I seem to recall being able to get it to oscillate using a 32.768 kHz crystal using a couple of resistors and capacitors. With the 24 stages it is possible to get a 1Hz reference with other input frequencies too. Michael Karas |
