#46931 - RE: Boot Loader program Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As it is possible to loose the Boot Vector, I think it is possible to loose the Status Byte too.Isn't it ?
So if you have lost the Status Byte(I mean different of zero), the program will begin at the Boot Vector address, that can be different from 0xFC00 or 0x0000. In this case, emergency exit (there is a jump in the 0x0000) will not be reach. Will it ? Interesting theory, possibly that could happen. It has never been postred here and I have not heard about it. Anyhow, there is, to my knowledge, no recorded case of either being lost in designs using a supervisor and proper decoupling of vcc at the chips Erik |
