If your task requires a certain precision part to work properly and you can not afford that part, you have two choices first change the design to work with a less expensive solution (part) = good engineering, second create a part that meets your precision from a less expensive part.
= great engineering because you now have a developable product. Unfortunatly a lot of beginners encounter this scenario from not understanding before they start a project where the pitfalls are for them.
