My IS guy does that; however, I believe that many of our friends here are economically challenged (I saw some horrendous markups when living in Iran) to buy and update virus detection software.

Yes, Erik, this could indeed be a reason. May be that I underestimate this point. But there many free antivirus programs on the web, which can be downloaded very easily, by everyone.
By the way, I'm using 'Antivir' which can also be downloaded for free. It uses much less memory space compared to 'MC Norton', etc., and performance is real good! Never had to complain...

To Craig:
You are right with your advice, but many people must use PC of company and are not able to make a change. But even if that would be possible, the last thing I can need in these days is a compatibility desaster....
