Hello:

I am learning to program the 89C52 and 89C2051 in assembly language. I just learn it by myself, not the lessons in the school.

By the helps in this forum, I learned how to use the INTs and some of the experts here "guide" me finished the soccer robot. (forgive my poor eng :-P)

Now, I met a new problem: the Serial port.
I read the 'Bible' and my book. I have also finded some datasheet about the 8051's serial port, but I still don't know how to "start".

The 'Bible' and the book just talk about the structure, the function of each bit, etc.

But...
What are the most basic things for me to initialize a serial port between two AT89C2051? Can anyone give me some example or tell me what should I know before using the serial port?
