I also agree that Dennis' comment is correct.
My senior design project two semesters ago was a microcontroller-based digital dashboard for the UT Formula SAE racing team. I developed the hardware and part of the software for this project in one semester and managed to complete it. However, there were many new things to me: * PCB layout - I had never made a board before! * Surface mount component soldering * Switching power supply design * Analog and digital I/O protection * Designing and programming an LED alphanumeric display * Designing and CNC milling an aluminum enclosure Any one of these tasks could have sunk the whole project. I worked like a dog on that project for the whole semester and it actually worked, but I will not dive head first into so many unknowns at one time again. Anil has even less time than I did and is dealing with a project of similar (or greater) complexity. I do not doubt that he is smart enough to do it, but I don't think it would be wise to attempt such a big project with so little time. - Lee |
