had an opportunity to use a Phyton PICE-51
About 8 months ago, I sampled several emulators. At that time (2 years after the 6 clockers came out) Phyton had no support for 6 clockers. I would be reluctant to recommend a company that is that slow to support new devices. Otherwise, I agree, the ICE was quite nice (worse than the CEIBO on about as many points as it was better). Another choice that I did not mention that was quite nice is the Metalink.

Anyhow whatever emulator you get, make sure it can handle the source from the compiler you use e.g. Ceibo works fine with Keil and Raisonance but require output from HiTech to be converted by a free utility before the Ceibo can display source on the debugging screen.
