Whether the output of this thing's serial port is RS-232 or CMOS levels doesn't really matter. Either way you can interface it to your microcontroller, directly or through an RS-232 converter (MAX232 or suchlike). If it can connect to a PC, you can also connect it to a microcontroller.

It would be very helpful if the company could provide you with the details on the serial port settings and the protocol the scale uses to send (and receive?) data.
