I think also, its not a good idea to feed the sensitive high impedance address / data bus of the 8051 over many plugs and long lines.
I would not wonder, if the CE certification may fail for such gadgets. The better apporach should be to place a separate 8051 on every board and connect them all over a serial bus, e.g. RS-485 or CAN. E.g. in one gadget I use the DS80C390 with 2 internal CAN interfaces on the main board and the T89C51CC02 on every module board. Peter |
