#50478 - DS80C400 .. Opinions |
I have been looking at the Dallas/Maxim DS80C400 uC as an alternative to the rabbit processor which my company currently use.
Our current rabbit application uses TCP/IP, CAN (external SPI controller), 1-Wire (via DS2480, on a serial post), Serial Flash (on SPI, for file storage) and 3 External serial ports (multiplexed via a single serial port). This device looks like it may reduce the component count considerably, and also the software overhead for driving CAN and 1-Wire coms, thus making the product more viable / profitable. I would very much apreciate if anybody has used this part with reference to the above, what is your opinion on using the device? Rob. |
