I believe he means remote controls that operate in the UHF RF range,
rather than infrared remotes. Here in the US they are usually used where you do not have a line of sight path to the receiver and/or for outdoor applications. In the U.S. they are assigned to two UHF freguency bands, 310-320 Mhz and 400-420 Mhz (approx.) |
