1) re reset:
A RC reset will fail regardless and even more if you use it for two processors. Use a supervisor chip is that so difficult? 2) re crystal: I STRONGLY recommend using an external oscillator, if you use two crystals you will se some REALLY strange beatings of the two frequencies. On one occasion I had to use the T2 output as the clock for a chopper stabilized Op-Amp becuse the oscillator driving it and the uC clock were banging heads. 3)re 89C51 and 89C2051 I recommend you use two identical uCs. You will find that some subtle differences will catch up on you if you use two different ones. Erik |
