#51781 - writing and I/O
is writing to a port of the chip considered as an output? For example when i want to control toggle switches and LEDs, i write to both of them but toggle switches are for digital inputs but LEDs are for digital outputs so do i have to use different commands for read/write and I/O?

1). 8051 chip--write to port-->external device

2). in external device: toggle switch(input)-->LEDs(output)

thanks
