About the only useful thing you can do in this setup is detect whether or not the 110VDC +/- 30% voltage is present or not.
Your post didn't leave enough info for a complete answer, but here is a hint: R = V/I, where your nominal voltage is 110V and a good value for diode current might be ~10mA. Then calculate worst case power dissipation for the resistor: Pmax = Vmax^2/R By the way, you don't mean 110 VAC do you? That would change things a bit. - Lee |
