I don't know the board, but I notice in your code that you try to establish a 1 ms pause:

for(i=0;i<10000;i++)
i=i; // wait more than 1ms


Note that your compiler may remove this part completely if you have code optimization switched on. I guess it could affect what you want to establish here.
